GRAM (Groundwater & Reforestation Adaptive Management) Association was founded in 2019 by Shashank, an SBI Youth Fellow who spent years at Barefoot College Tilonia. Inspired by a woman in rural India who said 'Agar kuch karna hi hai, to paani ke liye karo', Shashank rode his motorcycle across 13 states on a mission he named 'Harvesting the Heaven'. Today GRAM bridges indigenous wisdom with modern innovation to empower low-resource communities across livelihoods, water, agriculture, healthcare and education — fully aligned to the UN SDGs.
Impact to date: 6,978+ lives transformed · 6+ villages impacted · 34+ women trained · 2 water bodies rejuvenated · 5 SDGs addressed. Flagship programs: Rasabeda Spring Water Management Project (2019, Jharkhand) with DEEKSHA NGO & IBM Ranchi under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan; Pond Rejuvenation at Kherwatikra (2020) with Barefoot College Tilonia — restored Gudibandh Talab for 38 Munda tribal families. Supported by NABARD, IIM Ranchi, Barefoot College and DEEKSHA NGO.
